Penguin Random House is the largest general-interest paperback publisher in the world and the international home to more than 300 editorially and creatively independent publishing imprints. The Publisher is running a 6-month Traineeship to minoritised young people ( Over 18 ) throughout the UK.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work supporting well-known imprint brands – such as Ladybird, Penguin General ( home to authors such as Richard Osman, Michelle and Barak Obama ) and #Merky Books. You’ll use a keen eye to spot emerging trends, scout out potential authors and work towards the publishers mission of providing books for everyone.

There are nine traineeships up for grabs all of which are paid the London living wage. Travel expenses are also covered.

Amira is currently the Regional Programme Manager at the Ernst & Young (EY) Foundation. With a BA in History and an MA in International Relations from the University of Birmingham, Amira brings a rich background in youth engagement and empowerment.

Her dedication shines through her work with funders like the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation and her volunteer efforts with Chatham House, where she connects young people with key policymakers in international affairs.

Amira has also previously been a part of the programme We Don’t Settle emerged from, Don’t Settle, under Beatfreeks. She is deeply committed to creating safe spaces for young people to celebrate their lived experiences.
